novice in care of sick? loach

Hi,
I am taking care of a tank with two clown loaches for a friend while he is in Europe. One of the loaches over the past week has had some problems.
I apologize for the posting because I am sure you get this kind all the time but I searched around the forum and was not able to find enough to give me a clear indication as to what I should try. Based on a forum search and what I have read... it seems like my guy is sick or very stressed but what do I do now.

The fish is about 2-3 years old and has been in the same tank. Many other fish are in the 40 Gallon tank (2x Danios,2x Angel, a catfish of some kind, a silver dollar fish, and 2x bala sharks)
