Black Spots on Clowns

My four clown loaches, 2 that are 2 inches long and 2 about 4 inches long, have stips that have turned grey. There are spots in the grey that are black, or the color the stips are before they greyed out. There is also some darker orange spots on the orange. Most of these spots are on the upper third of the fish, with some on the fins. What is this from? They seem to be OK, they come up to the glass when I walk by and eat like normal. It is looks like a coloration thing, not a parasite. Any ideas?
