Baby Loach, My Baby Loach

Hi Everybody:

I just purchased three of the cutest little clown loaches (about 1 1/2" each, from mouth to tail)to keep my other two adult loaches (5-6") company. There used to be three adults, but one was struck by dropsy and swelled up like a grapefruit. Poor thing. To my surprise, the little ones don't hang out with the big ones. They are quite timid, and either hide or swim with eachother once the lights are off. I presume this will begin to change once they get accustomed to the tank, and put on a bit of size.

Does anyone here have experience mixing young and older loaches? What can be expected?
