Orphan Dojos!! Can you help?

I described my two big orphan dojos in my last post - new tank, no old gravel, etc. I have a couple of questions about using Prime. (1) The dojos (and zebras) made it through the ammonia peak and are eating/swimming and generally raising heck, BUT - I used Amquel and now the Ph is down to 6. Should I put some charcoal in the power filter to get rid of it before adding Prime? And how can I get the Ph up without hurting them? My tap water is about 7.7. (2) Is the Prime (at 5x, like Nikki said) only used once? If not, how often? Thanks for any help you can give.
