About a month ago, I added 2 modestas to a tank that had 3 clowns. At first, everything was fine. 2 weeks ago, I noticed my clowns weren't coming out of their caves much, so I started to watch quite closely. Here's what I observed:

The modestas did not fight with the clowns at all. As a matter of fact, they stayed pretty much in their own cave. One obviously dominant modesta always clicked at the other one, and chased him profusely. At first, I thought it was aggressive, but later realized they were playing cause the chasee always came back for more.

But, during these games the modestas had no regard for the other fish. They would just bowl them over, or knock them out of the way, if the other fish happened to be sitting (or even sleeping) in the path of the chase game.

Needless to say,
