Moving yoyos ... several questions

OK, I am moving my yoyos to a larger (55g) tank. I still need to cycle the tank.

I have had bad luck with fishless cycling ... just doesn't seem to work for me. My plan is to move over my 6 zebra danios and some driftwood and water from the old 29g, and let that mix go at it for a week or so, until the readings are good. Should I be able to move all five yoyos together once the cycle has stabilized? Will my yoyos be OK without their dither fish for a week or so?

I want to get an algae eater for this tank as well. I don't have one for my old tank, and I was always scraping. What kind of algae eater would get along best with my loaches and fit in my 55g?
