Face off

A couple of days ago, I witnessed an interaction between a couple different species of Botia in my community tank.

One of my little (maybe 2.5"TL) striata was facing off with a yoyo that is maybe 3" or so but really quite a bit larger than the striata mass-wise. They were doing the bumping, flipping end-to-end, jokeying for position, type of antics. The yoyo was all grayed out like he was really taking it seriously. Neither seemed to be getting the best of the other and they just kept going round and round for a long time. Every once in a while another smaller yoyo would jump in and side with the other yoyo but the striata just took it all in stride.

Just got a kick out of it as I don't usually see interaction between the v
