Clown Loach - Fin Injury *PIC*

I just picked up my first clown loach on Friday, but haven't seen much of him since he found the good spots to hide in my tank. I noticed that he has some kind of injury on his dorsal fin. I would guess it was there from the start, but I'm not sure since I thought I checked him out thoroughly at the store. I'm attaching a photo, but the quality isn't the best - if he comes out I'll try to snap another shot. Notice the white spot behind his dorsal fin. It looks like some kind of sore and appears that part of his fin is missing. I'm pretty sure none of the other fish nipped at him. Anyone have any ideas? I'm pretty new to the hobby, so recognizing diseases and injuries isn't my specialty.
He seems pretty lively, when he's out. I've also seen him eat a few times. Base
