I know loaches are very sensitive to many medications, and I'm considering anesthetizing a zebra loach to make a topical anti-fungal treatment easier (he looks like he had an injury on his snout and then got a fungus, which just won't quite go away). Koi and goldfish keepers use clove oil to anesthetize even large fish....has anyone here ever used this with loaches?

I was thinking of putting him in a small container with a low dose of the clove oil, then watching carefully until he looks pretty sleepy,
then transferrring to another clove-free container while I handle him (gently) to debride the site and apply a topical antifungal agent.

I don't want to treat the entire tank with other fish, snails and plants with a strong anti-fungal agent, and supposedly this type of treatmen
