For SusanA

For others peeking in:

I changed my pH-raising gravel 4 days ago along with about 1/2 the water. My Profile gives the details of my 10 gal tank which currently has only a few tetras. I'm anxious to buy some small Clown Loaches as soon as SusanA thinks it's safe.

SusanA has instucted me to give my water temp, pH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate parameters when asking for help so I have bought the necessary test kits.

Here are the results of 3 days testing, reading left to right:

7.6 7.6 7.6 - pH (tap is 7.4)
0.0 0.1 0.1 - Ammonia
0.0 0.0 0.0 - Nitrite
8.0 8.0 2.0 - Nitrate

SusanA, IF the pH rises to .5 and I can't find Prime is Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Ammo-Lock 2 a good second choice? Though it doesn't help with the Nitrites?
