Red Ludwigia: For Gareth and Others

I have some great looking plastic Red Ludwigia in my tank and saw the real thing yesterday and it looks just like it. I'd like to get it for my second live plant in a week or so after my new fish get settled.

Is it pretty easy care? Compatible with Clowns?

Also when you buy it how much rooting should it have? It looks to me like they take clippings and bunch them together with a strip of lead and then stick them in the sand. I know that when you buy very small house plants they have sometimes done this and if you try to transplant them too soon there aren't any roots yet at all. They just stuck a clipping in a small pot.
