Funny Loach Observations

I was watching my big tank quite late last night, about the time that the loaches really "perk up" and get silly. I could not believe how much the tank attitude has changed in the last week.

For starters, the Tiger Botia is homeless. The Sun loach has decided that all the slate is his. Every nook, cranny, cave and overhang is his and his alone. He will defend his favorite perch vigorously chasing anyone away who gets too close. I laughed out loud when I saw the Tiger botia swimming frantically away from a Sun loach HALF his size popping angrily behind him. He's quite the handful and is actually more of a little bastard then the Tiger towards other fish in the tank.
