Micro Siphoning

What?

Since I just did a water change and deep vacuuming yesterday I decided I didn't really need to vacuum with my water change today. So I tried something different just for fun.

My siphon is a 1/2" hose (outside diameter) with a plastic attachment on one end. The attachment has about a 1" diameter with a screen to keep gravel from going up. When I first learned how to use it tons of gravel would shoot up towards the screen and clog it. I was taught to pinch the hose to slow down the flow to eliminate this problem.

Today I simply took the attachment off. With only the 1/2" hose I was able to get in and around all the plants without upsetting them. It was great!
