The cheni are breeding again.

After months of inactivity, my adult Pseudogastromyzon cheni were spawning again yesterday. I caught them down between the powerheads taking turns to slide backwards of a pebble into a hole underneath it. I've seen and photographed this behaviour before, but this time, instead of having dug a hole in gravel, they were poking their tails down between two smaller pebbles right beside the big one.

There was much activity and excitement, the male dancing around flickering his fins and covering the female's head with his body whilst she was entering the hole. They did this for about 15 minuites and then swam off, still following one another. Later I noticed the
