Treating Secondary Infections while Treating Ich

Because Ich parasites burrow under the skin to feed and mature, then break out of the skin to go on to the next stage in their life cycle, they create open wounds in the skin of the fish they infect. This can lead to secondary infections.

Does anyone treat for these secondary infections while treating for Ich? Or does everyone simply wait to see if they appear?
