Question about my Clown Loaches

I have these two huge clown loaches in a 55 gallon tank. I've had Fornax, the bigger of the two at almost 8 inches, for about 5-6 years. I've had Orion, at about 6-7 inches, for about 2-3. My problem is that these two like to fight, and often I see minor, superficial scratches on their sides. I'm worried that it'll go too far one day and one will end up with a nasty injury. I know the obvious solution would be to separate them, but I don't have another suitable tank, and I know the clown loaches are like brothers to each other (that just like to rough house).

Will it help to stop the fighting if I get another large clown loach?
