Euthanization of fish

I was just wondering what peoples opinions are? Do you think that if you know a fish is facing certain death in its condition, will you prematurely end its life before death naturally takes place.?

In my situation i have a small kuhli that developed an infection which left it with an open fleshy wound in the side of its head. it has been acting relatively normal for the last couple weeks even with the wound, but today i noticed it only swimming in violent short circles, and shaking as if in a siezure. I'm wondering if i should remove it from the tank and place it to rest
