Colour morphs???? What the...

I have noticed an interesting phenomenon in one of my Kuhlis - every now and then it becomes PINK. Plain, uninterrupted PINK, no stripes, no nothing. Strangely, it doesn't stay that way and regains its colour after a few hours (it's a fairly plain brown coloured Kuhli generally).

The strange thing here is that his three tankmates don't do this (I've learned to recognise their colouration patterns to make sure), and also this particular Kuhli seems to be far more active when it does turn pink, happily swimming about in full daylight - usually he's the most reclusive of the bunch and you only ever see him at feeding times (the other three Kuhlis are quite extroverted).

What is going on here??? I'm at a loss to explain it. The only thing I can possibly think of that might make him different from his tankmates is that he got stranded in the filter chamber once about a month ago. This meant he spent a night sitting on the filter pad (Marineland Eclipse) which is full of carbon, but he seemed absolutely fine afterwards, if a little freaked.

I thought I might be going insane but no, there is a bright pink Kuhli swimming about in my tank RIGHT NOW! And I know for a fact that when I fed them this morning it was BROWN! AAAGH! Somebody save my sanity!!!!!
