ick/clout question

first off, we have had our clown loaches for about 4-5 years now and they are about six inches long. love these little guys!

anyway, we are unfortunately experiencing our first case of ick (I donít know how we have avoided it this long) and, panicking, I went out late to get medicine. by the way, one was doing badly (laying on his back, wouldnít come out of his cave, and breathing heavy) the other seemed fine. I only had time to go to petco and they had clout, which seemed to be for their symptoms. I still didnít know it was ick. so I put a treatment in last night at about 9:30pm and today they are swimming around again. the one which was doing badly is out and about but still very lethargic, he keeps kinda swimming on his side, etc. so my question, now that I've already seen an improvement, is how long can I wait until putting in another dose of medicine? the instructions on the box are very vague ("repeat daily until fish appears healthy") and so I'm not sure. in their already vulnerable state I donít want to stress them anymore or cause other problems.

thanks!

holly
