OT - Information re Otos

There's been much discussion recently about Otoclinus catfish, remarking on how delicate they are. I discovered fairly recently that one of the reasons for their sudden deaths and vulnerabiity is how they are captured. Because Otos are so fast and elusive, collectors ue chemicals to sedate them. The chemicals are poisonous to the fish and can cause damage to internal organs. This damage can eventually kill the fish, but will certainly shorten its life. It also goes a long way to explaining why a person can have Otos for a certain time, then the durn thing suddenly dies.
