In case of fire, what to do?

G'day,
Just had some huge bushfires down here in Canberra, and there's a fair bit of ash and so forth in the water. What do I do with water changes for my tanks? Should I boil the water, use it as is, buy bottled water, or just leave it for a while until the water is clearer?

I know that distilled water is bad, but what about bottled spring water? And does it need dechlorinating like tap water?
