7 loaches, 1 barb missing= 1mystery

Hello, all. I keep 7 clown loaches (about 3 inches long each) in a 110 gallon aquarium together with 3 (soon to be 11) rosy barbs and one baby giant gourami. The loaches are fantastic, and seem to get along well with the barbs currently in the tank (they are often swimming together).

I came home yesterday to 2, not 3, rosy barbs. One had literally vanished. There is no chance he got sucked up the filter, and there is no chance he jumped out of the tank. And he is definitely gone. The only solution I can come up with for this mystery is that the rosy barb died (which itself is hard to swallow because every fish in that tank is vigorous and healthy) and was c
