Rosy barb school-mates?

I have my seven clown loaches in a 110 gallon aquarium together with 15 rosy barbs (4 females 11 males). The barbs go just about anywhere, but seem to hang out mostly on the lower level with my clowns. They all go back and forth together, and it seems that the loaches follow the barbs as much as the barbs follow the loaches. When the algae or normal wafers go in, all 22 fish swarm them. They SEEM to get along famously.

My question is whether my loaches don't mind all the action, or whether they'd be better off without the barbs at all. I know the more clown loaches, the better, but can these rosy barbs be acting as surrogate school-mates?
