Help - cloudy water

We are new to fish keeping and have a small (30 litre) tank with a Fluval 1 filter which we clean regularly. In the tank we have 2 goldfish (variety unknown - aquarian standard pet goldfish) and 2 weather loach (Dojo's).
We've been told to feed a pinch of fish food flakes and 1 plecostomus catfish food pellet each day. The fish seem to go framtic everytime anyone goes near the tank, as if they're still hungry but the water is clouding up which makes me wonder if we're giving them too much food.
All our fishes appear healthy and active. Dyson (wonky loach) is very tame and will eat a fish food flake from my son's fingers if he gets the chance.
We really enjoy keeping and watching them but are a bit worried that the water is not as it should be for their long term health.
Any advice would be most welcome.
