OT - Discovery with Lights and Algae - For Erik, 2

I have 3 tanks in operation, all planted, all with sand, all contain bottom-huggers, such as loaches and plecos which constantly stir the sand.

Tank 1 - compact flourescent Custom SeaLife 6500k bulb
Tank 2 - standard flourescent Hagen Life-Glo 6500k bulb
Tank 3 - standard flourescent GE AquaRays 9325k bulb

Tank 3 has an exponentially higher rate of algae growth. It seems to me that that light spectrum is more conducive to producing algae than the lower color temps. I'm going to swap out the bulb for a 5500k in the next couple of weeks, but I'm pretty convinced.

As a matter of fact, w
