Oh man, what's wrong with my fish!?!

I've got a 75 gallon tank with all kinds of loaches, gouramis, and a few other fish. All of them are extremely peaceful species and I've never seen any aggression among any of the fish. Also, they've all been remarkably healthy for the whole time the tank has been set up.

Yesterday, I noticed danio with extremely frayed fins and a swollen, discolored area around the base of the tail. I moved it to a hospital tank, where it died in about 12 hours.
Today, when coming home from work, i noticed one of my female bettas was dead. I then noticed that my male betta's left side was really not looking good (see photo below). My other female betta was similarly afflicted
