A clown question again..

I just bought my 2 new striatas and a larger clown, and I must admit that the striatas are the cutest darn things I've ever seen. They're really friendly with the yo-yos, the clowns, and even the cherry barbs. But the big clown is really sluggish. His gills are moving normal, but he's always hiding at the back of the tank. The smaller clown I had before has gone over and nudged him out a few times, but the new guy just went back.
I never had this problem. Maybe I'm spoiled, because I've been incredibly lucky with the fish I get. They usually get used to the tank quickly and such..
So how long do clowns usually take to get used to their new surroundings? Also, do clow
