nitrite HELP ,HELP,HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

exactly how much nitrite is too much when cycling a tank?Mine got up to over 5.0ppm then i started doing 25% water changes every day!My ammonia only spiked at around 2.0 ppm then dropped off fast it only took about 4 days now ive had a nitrite spike for around a 8 days !It just dosent seem to want to go down!I have added CYCLE,STRESSZYME,AND BIOZYME but nothing seems to work!I am going over to my friends house tonight to get some gravel from his cycled tank to see if this will help!I am using a PENNPLAX CASCADE 300 FILTER with dual bio sponges and biofalls!any advice would be great!also i let my tank go for about 4 days with the nitrite at 5.0 ppm but i have not lost any fish yet!My fish include 4 corys,2 dojo,4 clowns,2 centrarchus cichlids!I realize that i loaded up my tank way too soon now im trying to deal with it ,but i have not lost any fish yet and all se
