Will my khuli get along with my yoyos?

Here's the situation: I have a 28g with some cories, some cherry barbs, and a lone khuli, and a 55g with five yoyos, six tiger barbs, and a few zebra danios.

I want to re-do my 28g. I have a 12g tank I can put the cherry barbs and cories in, but the khuli will be too much strain on it, I think. (That, and it's in a hallway -- too much stress for the khuli too, I suspect.)

Would it be safe to temporarily -- or even permanently -- move the khuli to my 55g? Or would he have problems with the other fish there? There are lots of plants and hidey-holes, and I'd probably rearrange the tank and add more spaces for him if it's a place he could safel
