dolphin(?) loaches?

my lfs has these fish that rather look like a synodontis, but they insist they are called dolphin loaches.
they are brown/mottled with a high dorsal fin and a prominant adipose fin (like a synodontis) but they have NO barbels and a mouth like a chinese algae eater...
were sitting on bottom, or hovering with a bunch of plecos. Any ideas?
