horrible story

I've had this cloudy white stuff with greenish black dots in it all over the tank for weeks, and it was really starting to get to me, so i went and i bought more plants figuring my filter needed some help. This stuff just kept showing up, especially in the roots of the plants. I was stumped and very upset. I figured my system was destroyed from the damage done by the platies and their young that i got rid of because of this. Last night i was doing a fish check and couldn't find the small hillstream loach (i had two). Then it hit me. I hadn't seen him in weeks. I figured he was just hiding in a cave. Today, i went to fix my java fern and noticed someting string like just in the light of the cave. I decided i was going to do a water change and siphon out the entire gravel bed to try and get rid of this stuff (had done a
