New Tank Syndrome - Algae?

As many of you know, I recently setup a new 75 gallon tank. I moved a well-seeded Eheim Pro II cannister, which was on a way overly-stocked 29 gallon for many months, to eliminate cycling of the new tank. While that did accomplish what I wanted, I noticed that green algae took off like you wouldn't believe. Believe it or not, if I put a rock in the tank, within hours it starts growing algae. While this doesn't bother me because I have the best algae eaters in the universe, I was just curious as to whether or not this is because of new WATER, or what.

When setting up the tank, I moved two 20x12 inch Amazon swords from the 29 gallon, as well, so I'd have nutrient-hungry
