HELP! Hoplosternum thoracatum ill

Posted By: Dragana <dragana77@spinter.net>

My name is Dragana and I have a female thoracatum catfish which I believe is ill.
Some weeks ago I noticed that her eyes became foggy, but as I was told that mature catfishes are known to turn blind, and as her behavior remained normal, I did nothing further to cure her.
Yesterday I noticed some kind of elongated swelling on her head some 3-4mm long, above left eye of the same colour as the body, and this morning a white asymmetric shape appeared between the eye and left "nostril" (as I call them), again 4-5 mm long. The swelling is still there. Her behavior is normal, she appears cheerful and takes food.
What might this be?
