Kuhli Loach, how long do they live?

I have a Kuhli Loach that I bought for my son when my daugher was born. She is now 20. The darn fish is still alive. We though he had gone to the great fishtank in the sky a few months ago. All the rest of the fish had gone belly up & we could find no trace of him so we just turned off the tank and left it. Today we went to clean out the tank which now had about 3 inches of water left in it, and Kuhli was alive & well once we started to remove all the rocks.

Anyone have any idea how long these silly things live & what it takes to kill them? Neglect sure doesn't work!
