Dead Clown Loach

I need some imput from people who really know clown loaches PLEASE. I have a 55 gal. community tank containing the following: 2 angelfish, 7 neon tetras, 2 silver dollars, 5 small danios, 2 small "fruit salad"(dyed blue about 3 years ago) tetras, (no, I didn't know any better at the time), and 7 rosy reds. I added two clown loaches about 2 months ago and they were doing really great and growing like wild. I LOVE those fish.

I have two powerheads and two lift tubes with airstones along with a small Aquaclear on the back. This tank has been established now for a little over three years with never any major problems. PH is 7.5 (sometimes closer to 8) and the water is soft. I have very acid well water so I add a little baking soda to bring up the PH when I do water changes. The temp stays at 79 to 80.
