Cherry fin loaches

Well, the lfs got in a few Acanthocobitis rubidipinnis, but they wanted a totally extreme $40 each for them... I had been drooling over them for some time, and there have been no takers because of the price, so today I got them down to 2 for $40, which is still high, but then, I'm bad with money.
Anyway, these guys are very near 3 inches long, with some colour showing in their fins, which I think will come alive with some bloodworms, etc... They went into the river tank and they're great! Very inquisitive, with long barbels and immediately they began to root through the gravel and stones for bits of food.
I have to say that the river tank has not been very entertaining until now... 2 Schist. mahnertis and 3 Beaufortias that are all very shy... Most of the time, if they see you enter the room, they make a break for some spot under a stone or behind a log. The Cherry-Fins are way less retiring, and are too busy looking for more food to hide.
The pictures in the species index don't do them justice, because, like many of the "torpedo" loaches, their pectoral fins are quite wide and also coloured.
Happily content, and that much more broke,
Mark.
