straita and pleco

My smallest straita (Jr. about 1.5") keeps trying to attach to my pleco. The pleco is close to a foot long and doesn't seem to like it, but so far just shakes Jr off. Has anyone had this happen? Will jr hurt the pleco or vis versa?
