Live Plants & Loaches

I keep such basic live plants (hygros, vals, java fern and moss and aponogetons...guess that about covers most of what is in with the loaches..oh yes duckweed..of course...: (...wanted or not it is there...and it does provide a nice shade element)...anyway, i am wondering what others' experiences are with live plants...specifically:

what plants do your loaches leave alone and or enjoy hiding in or resting on...and what loaches are they that are enjoying these plants as shelter/resting places w/o eating them.

what plants do your loaches devour so unless one is wanting to provide a gourmet cuisine costing much $, what plants would you avoid using, and, of course, which loaches are doing the eating of these plants.

thanks,
barbara
