New Clowns and (Pre-)Treatment

I bought 5 small (1") clowns a few days ago and now have them in the QT. I've always had fairly miserable luck with clowns this size but refuse to give up on them yet.
I have 9 larger clowns that probably 7 of them were bought at sizes of 3-4". Never a death amongst clowns bought larger than 2", but they are hard to find and usually come with a hefty price.
Last year I bought 10 healthy looking small 1" clowns on sale that were all dead in 2-3 months of skinny disease.
I have been treating the current group with Maracyn daily. Started some maracide yesterday when ich started to pop-up.
They eat blood worms well, daily 75% water changes since the QT was not cycled.
My question is how long to treat and am I treating with the right formula... should I also use Mar
