Help! My loach is going mad.

I have a weather-loach, about a year old, in a 3foot tank with one other loach and two goldfish.
During the last two or three days, it has been going bananas; belting round the tank, leaping out of the water, bashing it's face into the gravel, swimming on its back and finally lying down gasping. It doesnt do it all the time, but two or three times during the day.
I have treated the water with aquarium salt but apart from now trying a standard goldfish treatment for possible internal parasites, I can't work out what's happening to it, or how to help it further.
