clown loach size for tanks

I have two clown loaches in a newly purchased 37 gallon amongst many neon tetras, rasboras and rummy nose tetras, one small catfish and a few small algea eaters. I had them in a 12 gallon but bought a bigger tank knowing they would soon need more space. My clown loaches burrow all day and I never ever see them. I used to see them more often in the evening but since adding more fish to the tank I never see them. I am interested in buying 3 more due to safety in numbers and maybe they'll all school together, but I am worried about how large they might get and is this 37g large enough for even these two?? I don't want to "stunt their growth, but I can't keep buying larger tanks for them". Help!!
