Hi Loachers,

Here is something that I discovered concerning gravel should any of you be thinking of changing or setting up a new tank.

I have a 125gal tank and wanted to switch to Flourite. The price would have been in the neighborhood of $200.00.

I discoverd from a friend of mine who owns a fish store in Mich. that there is something much cheaper and looks just great.

Just go down to your local SandBlasting store (really) and get "BlackBeauty" medium sand-blasting grit. (I'm not making this up you know)

It's jet black and is very clean so just a minor wash will do. My plants love it and it gives the roots and small root tendrils something to really grab at.
