New fish(es)

Today, I bit the bullet and went and bought 6 Aborichthys elongatus.

These are really cute fish. I put them in my little photo tank, but they were going nuts, so I didn't get many decent pics. So I put them into the tank where they will probably stay. This USED to be the Q-tank, but you know what happens to Q-tanks eh? They become a permanent home. In this case to 6 Gastromyzon ctenocephalus and a single Gastromyzon ridens.

Put the 6 A. elongatus in and they immedeatly started looking for food. Put in some frozen Brine Shrimp. BOY! these guys are sharp! Zoomed all over the place scooping up shrimp. They were hungry alright.
They are constantly searching for food, squirming in and out between the pebbles in the tank like high speed kuhlis. They dig into the substrate and sometimes move gravel grains with their mouths. They seem very peaceful and just sort of sniff the Gastromyzon if they come close.

I figure that they will colour up more once settled and fattened up a bit. The markings are VERY variable. No two fish look the same. It will be interesting to see if there's an sexual dimorphism as they mature.

I've only owned them for a few hours and I love 'em already.

Check out these pics from in the tank:
