My newly setup 55 gallon tank, has become infested with snails after a recent arrival of aquatic plants. (yuck.......)
I would really like to stock with a species of some type of loach to handle this problem more or less naturally, but have some concerns about the current, lone resident of this tank, a Macrognathus siamensis, (Peacock Eel). The tank itself has a sand substrate in the foreground, with a narrow strip of potted gravel in the back to accomodate a row of Valisneria. The Peacock Eel digs quite enthusiastically in the sand, but doesn't seem to like the tiny gravel area. A Loach friendly tank?!!
