Is it unusual for Tetrid to work on loaches...?

Some people here may be aware of my ails with dying clown loaches. For those that aren't, I've had 8 or so clowns that have died in the past couple months, and I've tried cleaning the tank, medicating with Melafix and Super Velvet Plus, and tried creating more hiding places in the tank. Nothing had worked and I was becoming completely distraught.

But yesterday I put Tetrid, specific for tetras and cichlids, in the tank, and now my last sick little clown, that was doing its shimmying and not eating, is now active, breathing normal, and eating! Could anyone tell me why Tetrid worked?
