new tank research questions

I'm researching a new tank to rehouse the family. 230 gallons with 72"x24" of bottom should make them happy with plenty of room for expansion of the family. ( I finally found a LFS in town with loaches other than clowns )

This leads to some questions:

Glass, or Acrylic?
A corner overflow with hole in the bottom of the tank, or a over the side/back syphon overflow?
Filtration with a canister, or a dry/wet?

What do you think?
What do you have?
