Kuhli Genetics Article

I came across this article while looking for info on the Red Kuhli (Pangio filinaris) mentioned in a thread below. Turns out someone has done some DNA mapping of loaches. I wonder how much more of this type of research is out there. You don't have to kill the fish to get a DNA sample, so why isn't someone pursuing this line of research?
