Cleaning driftwood

Anyone know how i can clean driftwood? I just had a meltdown in my planted tank. All paremeters checked out fine. I had to break the tank down and start over. Out of 17 Exodons 3 made it through. Lost 3 Botia Rostrata, 1 Huge Yoyo Loach, And an Angelicus. Eveyone was put in hospital tanks when i noticed it. Daily Doses of Melafix and daily water changes. Symptoms were Clouded over eyes, Rapid Breathing and Body slime peeling off and fungusing alomst over night. Only thing i can think of is some type of toxin got in but what it is i cant imagine. Im very carefull. Not one Cory or Dwarf Pleco had any problem. So i want to try to reuse the driftwood but i need to clean it first. Was thinking about Lightly bleaching it with di
