Red Mouth Bacterial Infection?

I'm back...just when you thought it was safe. :-)

I recently got 3 new zipper loaches. One of them had a very red mouth, so I took it back for an exchange. The guy said it's a bacterial infection that usually responds to ampicillin, then promptly gave me an exchange.

Two days later the "exchanged" zipper started showing the same signs, and 4 days later a second one is getting pinkish around the mouth, as well. The 3rd zipper seems fine.

Today was the second dose of Kanacyn, but I'm wondering if any of you have experience with these symptoms, and what, if anything, you used to successfully remedy the situation.

Thanks in advance.
