Sinibotia seem to eat snails

I had a ramshorn infestation in my river tank and my brook tank at one point. The odd snail can still be found in the river tank, but none at all in the other. I believe that it was after I added Sinibotia species (pulchra to the river tank, robusta to the brook tank) when the snail population plunged.
I haven't actually seen them eating snails, but the other inhabitants - Schisturas, Acanthocobitis, hillstream loaches - show no interest in them.
Has anyone got similar experience to back this up?
